About Flurret

Flurret was started in January 2024 after Jesse started using an awesome Japanese learning website called jpdb.io, but found there was nothing similar for any other languages. His wife Fusayo is learning English and thought it would be really cool to learn English (and other languages) in a similar way.

Jesse brought on his twin brother Reuben to help with making Flurret a reality. We’re a tiny team of 2 people working part-time to build something we think would help language learners around the world become more fluent. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy learning languages through movies and TV shows. We have not taken any startup funding, and are instead self-funding the project. About the Team

Our names are Jesse and Reuben, and we’ve been obsessed with computers ever since we figured out how to turn them off and back on again. We are both engineers by day, and programmers by night - we are basically the bat twins, working hard to bring you Flurret (yes we wear capes while programming).

This is our first major programming project, and we’re doing our best to make something truly awesome for language learners. Come say hi in the discord whenever you feel like it, we don’t bite!
